The Meteorological Forecasting Division has warned of strong winds likely to occur in parts of the Terai region in Lumbini Province today, due to the combined influence of westerly winds, local air currents, and moisture-laden air from the Bay of Bengal.
This afternoon, weather conditions are expected to be partly to generally cloudy over the hilly regions, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy skies.
Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in some hilly areas, while scattered snowfall and light rain are forecast for mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
Tonight, the hilly areas will remain partly to generally cloudy, with fair weather expected elsewhere. Isolated areas in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces may experience light to moderate rainfall and thunder.
Additionally, light snowfall and rain may occur in select mountainous locations in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
The Division has urged residents, particularly in the Terai areas of Lumbini, to remain alert for strong winds.
