Supreme Cooperative Fraud Case Update: Dipesh Pun Granted Bail, Omprakash Gurung Remanded in Custody
In a significant development in the Supreme Cooperative fraud case, the Rupandehi District Court has issued orders for the release of Dipesh Pun on a bail bond of 4 lakhs, while chairman Omprakash Gurung has been remanded in custody.
The decision, delivered by the bench of Judge Dr. Sri Prasad Upreti, comes amid ongoing legal proceedings surrounding the alleged financial malpractice within the cooperative based in Butwal, Rupandehi.
According to court registrar Yagyamurthy Gyawali, six individuals, including Dipesh Pun, have been granted bail. Notably, Dipesh Pun, the son of former Vice President Nand Bahadur Pun, faces a bail amount of 4 lakhs.
The court has also stipulated bail amounts for other accused individuals: 10 lakhs for Navin Achami, 18 lakhs for Leela Chapagain, 445,000 for Deepak Neupane, 2 lakhs for Nita Thapa Magar, and 2 lakhs for Roshni Gurung.
Meanwhile, Omprakash Gurung, the chairman of the cooperative implicated in the alleged fraud, has been ordered to be detained in custody pending further legal proceedings.
