The death toll from the road accident that occurred early this morning near Ratanangla in Birendranagar municipality, along the Surkhet-Dailekh road section, has risen to four.
The tragic accident involved a jeep (Bhe. 1 Cha. 2560) carrying passengers from Surkhet to Kalikot. According to the District Traffic Police Office in Surkhet, the jeep was transporting six passengers at the time of the incident. Two others were injured and are currently receiving treatment at the provincial hospital.
In a detailed update, authorities confirmed that the body of one of the deceased was found lodged in a tree. The two injured passengers were promptly rushed to the provincial hospital for medical attention. Further details of the accident are still pending.
Following the report of the accident, a team of security personnel was immediately deployed to the scene for rescue operations, according to the District Traffic Police Office.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
