T20 WC: Sri Lanka’s second win, Afghanistan out

Sri Lanka defeated Afghanistan on Tuesday by six wickets in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

It is the 2nd win of Srilanka in Group B of Super 12.

Afghanistan made 144 for eight after opting to bat.

Sri Lanka chased down the target in 18.3 overs with Dhananjaya de Silva scoring 66 not out off 42 balls.

With this win, Sri Lanka moved into third place from last in its group to rekindle slim hopes of qualifying for the T20 World Cup semifinals.

Any hopes of Afghanistan reaching the semifinals are now over.

Sri Lanka 148/4 in 18.3 overs (Dhananjaya de Silva 66 not out; Mujeeb 2/24).
