Tanahun Hydropower Project Provides Skill Training to Affected Communities

The Tanahun Hydropower Project, which is constructing a 140-megawatt hydropower plant in Tanahun district, has initiated a skill development program for communities affected by the project.
As part of its Livelihood Reintegration Programme, the project has begun driving training for 36 local residents to enhance their income-generating opportunities. According to Project Chief Shyamji Bhandari, the 26-day training includes participants from Myagde Rural Municipality, Rishing Rural Municipality, Bhimad Municipality, and Vyas Municipality. The sessions are being conducted at Damauli and Bhimad training centers.
In addition to skill development, the Tanahun Hydropower Project has completed 68 small-scale community development initiatives under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. These projects include the construction of playgrounds, roads, ponds, community buildings, and drinking water facilities, aimed at improving local infrastructure and livelihoods.
