Tension in Dhangadhi, Police fires tear gas to students (In pictures)
As the students continued their protests against the death of a 14-year-old girl in a road accident in Dhangadhi of Kailali on Friday, a clash broke out between students and police personnel.
Police fired dozens of tear gas canisters to disperse the mob after the students staged a demonstration in the prohibited area.
Chetana Saud, a student at the Padmodaya Higher Secondary School, had died after being hit by a grader at around 10 am on Thursday. Saud (14) had died on the spot.
Following her death, the students staged demonstrations for the whole day. They demanded action against the driver and compensation for the family of the deceased.
Then, the District Administration Office issued a prohibitory area from 7 pm on Thursday until further notice to take the situation under control.
Meanwhile, police have arrested more than a dozen students who participated today in the demonstration. in the prohibitory area.
