Thai Asia Airlines Begins Bangkok-Bhairahawa Flights
Thai Asia Airlines launched its inaugural flight on the Bangkok-Bhairahawa route today, marking a new milestone for Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA). The Thai Asia Airbus A-320, carrying seven crew members, touched down at GBIA at 6:55 am for an initial test flight, according to GBIA Information Officer Binod Singh Raut.
Starting November 8, the airline will operate two regular flights per week between Bangkok and Bhairahawa. This service is expected to boost tourism and connectivity for Nepal’s Lumbini region, home to the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
Airport officials, local tourism entrepreneurs, and security personnel warmly welcomed the crew and aircraft upon arrival. The plane departed for Bangkok at 7:40 am, with the one-way airfare set at Rs 12,000.
This new route is anticipated to enhance travel convenience for both international visitors and Nepalese travelers, promoting cultural and economic exchanges between Nepal and Thailand.
