Thakur and Tripathi Set to Reunite After Six Years
After six years of separation, the chairman of Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP), Mahantha Thakur, and Janata Pragatisheel Party (JPP) chairman Hridayesh Tripathi are on the brink of reuniting.
Discussions are currently underway regarding a potential working unity between the two parties, with an official announcement anticipated in the coming days, according to LSP Secretary Manish Mishra.
Tripathi had previously parted ways with LSP before the 2074 BS election. The rift stemmed from a disagreement over leadership positions within the unified Rastriya Janata Party (RJP), formed by amalgamating six Madhesh-centered parties in 2074 BS. Tripathi’s exclusion from the chairmanship led to his departure from the party.
However, with negotiations progressing between LSP and JPP, there’s optimism about the two parties reuniting once again. Tripathi notably won the 2074 BS election using the election symbol of CPN-UML.
