Three Arrested for Robbing Foreign Nationals in Banepa
Police in Kavrepalanchowk district have arrested three individuals on charges of robbing two foreign nationals in Banepa. The suspects, identified as Hari Chaudhary, 20, from Nawalparasi, Sandesh Jairu, 17, from Sunapati Rural Municipality in Ramechhap, and Ujjwal Dahal, 16, from Kavrepalanchowk, were apprehended late Tuesday night, according to Nepal Police Spokesperson and DIG Dan Bahadur Karki.
The trio is accused of stealing mobile phones and ATM cards from Italian citizen Martin, 28, and German national Alexandra, 26, who are in Nepal for an internship at Dhulikhel Hospital. The victims were reportedly threatened with a knife while walking towards Banepa’s View Tower.
Police launched an immediate investigation following the incident, leading to the arrests. Further investigation into the case is ongoing, Karki added.
