Three Dead, Two Injured in Palpa Jeep Accident

Three people lost their lives and two others were injured in a jeep accident at Siddheshwar, Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality-1, Palpa, on Saturday night.

The jeep, bearing registration number Lu 1 Ja 2377, was en route from Asare to Thulapokhara when it veered off the road and plunged about 200 meters down the hillside, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Malla of the District Police Office, Palpa.

All five occupants were rushed to the United Mission Hospital in Tansen, where doctors pronounced three of them dead. The deceased have been identified as Dipendra Budha, 36, Chet Narayan BK, 31, and Janak Regami, 23, all residents of Siddheshwar, Rainadevi Chhahara-1.

The injured — jeep driver Ranjan Reshmi, 27, and Saroj Budha, 23 — are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
