
Three Nepalis from Rupandehi Killed in Car Accident in India


Three Nepali citizens lost their lives in a fatal car accident in India while returning from the Mahakumbh religious festival in Prayagraj.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Ranjit Singh Rathore of the District Police Office, Rupandehi, the deceased have been identified as Ganesh Khanal (45), his wife Deepa Khanal (40), and Geeta Sharma (45), all residents of Bhaluhi, Devdaha Municipality-9, Rupandehi.
The accident occurred when their car collided with a roadside divider near Azamgarh, India, on their way back from the religious fair.
Five others sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at hospitals in Azamgarh and Gorakhpur, India, police reported.
A 35-member team from Devdaha Municipality-9 had traveled to Prayagraj for the Kumbh Mela, using five cars for the journey. The tragic incident took place on the Banaras-Azamgarh highway, involving one of the vehicles from the group.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and local authorities are in regular contact with Indian police for further updates, SP Rathore confirmed.
