TIA’s New Rule: Bid Goodbye or Welcome Home, Only Three Allowed
Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Nepal has implemented a new rule limiting the number of people allowed inside the airport premises to bid farewell to departing passengers. In a public notice issued on Tuesday, the Civil Aviation Office at TIA announced that only three individuals would be permitted to see off a passenger leaving the country. This restriction also applies to those who are coming to pick up someone arriving from abroad.
The decision to impose this limitation was made by TIA’s Security Committee, with the aim of reducing overcrowding at the airport. The notice, signed by Teknath Sitaula, Director of the Airport Operation Department, highlights the need to control the growing number of people due to the increasing volume of domestic and international flights operating from the airport. The limited space available outside the domestic and international terminals further accentuates the necessity for crowd control measures.
The airport authorities have appealed to everyone to cooperate and adhere to the new rule.
