Tiger Tranquilized and Captured from Kanchanpur Sugarcane Farm
A tiger was tranquilized and taken into control from a sugarcane farm at Dodhara Chadani municipality-2 in Kanchanpur.
A team from the Shuklaphanta National Park and Bardiya National Park, accompanied by five elephants, was mobilized to capture the tiger. The animal had killed Hira Shah, 23, of the same locality on Thursday morning while she was collecting fodder near the sugarcane farm.
Efforts to capture the tiger began immediately after the incident, but the successful capture was only achieved today, according to Shuklaphanta National Park’s conservation officer, Manoj Aeir. Preparations are currently underway to transfer the tiger to Bardiya.
The incident has raised concerns among locals about wildlife safety in the area, highlighting the need for ongoing vigilance and effective management of human-wildlife conflicts.
