Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Pandey, has announced the government’s intention to introduce a new tourism policy to drive the overall development of Nepal’s tourism sector.
Speaking at the 26th anniversary celebration of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) today, Minister Pandey emphasized the need to position the tourism industry for sustainable growth. He highlighted that the government is working on policies to reinvigorate the sector and guide it toward a more promising future.
He advocated for operating the NTB under a public-private partnership (PPP) model to enhance collaboration and efficiency in the sector.
In a significant announcement, Minister Pandey declared the launch of the “Tourism Decade” tomorrow, marking the start of 2025. The campaign aims to attract a higher number of tourists to Nepal, leveraging the country’s rich cultural and geographical diversity.
“Our nation is a tapestry of caste, language, religion, culture, and geography. To truly realize Nepal’s tourism potential, we must preserve these diversities while fostering unity, tolerance, and goodwill,” he remarked, emphasizing the importance of promoting Nepal as a unified yet diverse travel destination.
