Tragedy Strikes as Five Russian Nationals Die on Mt. Dhaulagiri Expedition
Five Russian nationals from an expedition team have tragically died during their attempt to summit Mt. Dhaulagiri. The group, which had lost contact with the High Camp Base Camp since Sunday, was found deceased on Tuesday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bharat Shrestha from the Myagdi District Police Office confirmed the recovery of the bodies, identifying the deceased as Alexander Dusheyko, Oleg Kruglov, Vladimir Chistikov, Mikhail Nosenko, and Dimitri Shpilevoi.
The five climbers went missing around 11:00 PM on Sunday, prompting an aerial search operation for the missing team. One member of the expedition was successfully rescued and transported to Kathmandu for treatment.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
