Transfer of music, songs to new generation imperative: Leader Poudel

Nepali Congress leader Pradip Poudel has said the music and songs based on Nepali originality need to be transferred to a new generation. Leader Poudel said it during a program organized to mark the 32nd memorial day of Swarsamrat Narayan Gopal here Monday.

He expressed worry over fading music bearing Nepali originality. The newly elected people’s representative from constituency-5 of Kathmandu, leader Poudel argued there are no civilization, culture, and human settlement detached with nativity.

According to him, it is the responsibility of the State to create an atmosphere favorable to protect the music and songs that reflect Nepali culture and image. The singer and musicians also deserve honor by the State, Poudel underscored.

On the occasion, people contributing to Nepali songs and music were honored.
