Tribhuvan University Graduates 14,308 Students at 50th Convocation Ceremony

In a significant milestone, Tribhuvan University (TU) awarded degrees to 14,308 students during its 50th Convocation Ceremony held today at the Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli graced the event, presenting certificates to students who achieved the highest marks and those who completed their doctoral studies.

According to TU Examination Controller Pushpa Raj Joshi, this year’s graduates included 9,068 undergraduate students, 5,055 postgraduate students, 63 MPhil scholars, and 122 PhD recipients.

The ceremony also celebrated academic excellence by awarding medals to students who topped their respective disciplines. Hira Shrestha from the Management Faculty received the Tribhuvan University Professors’ Association Martyr Associate Professor Hari Raj Adhikari Gold Medal, while Sudha Kafle from the School of Management was honored with the Shree Indra Bhakta Gold Medal. Sushil Pokharel of the Central Department of Chemistry received the Amrit Medal, and Rikita Bhandari of the Central Department of Environmental Science was awarded the Madan Bidya Environmental Science Award.

Rebika Bhandari of Kathmandu Model College earned the Nepal Bank Limited Sardar Gunjaman Singh Gold Medal and the Ram Krishna Nuchchhe Pradhan Award. Sudikshya Ghimire from Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus received the Narendramani Acharya Dixit Medal and Dr. Mohan Prasad Lakhe Gold Medal. Sanjeev Kumar Singh from the Central Department of Library and Information Science was recognized with the Shanti-Narayan Mishra Medal, and Prateek Raj Joshi from the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy received the Dubasu Chhetri Gold Medal.

Other honorees included Shreena Chhetri of the Central Department of Botany, who received the Emirates Prof. Dr. Ram Prasad Chaudhary Gold Medal, and Chetana Kunwar of the Central Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, who was awarded the Narayan Shanti Mishra Medal. Shrijjya Kafle from the Central Department of Economics received multiple awards, including the Tarpad Chaudhary Medal, Khagendra Man Singh Pradhan Medal, and Chandra Raj Dhungel Memorial Award. Sita Kumari Shrestha from the Central Department of Education was honored with the Shilpa Bista Academic Excellence Award.

The convocation showcased Tribhuvan University’s dedication to academic excellence and its role in fostering future leaders.
