Tributes Paid to Journalist Rajak, FNJ Stages Protest Demanding Justice

Journalists and media organizations paid tribute to Suresh Rajak, the Avenues Television cameraman who lost his life in the violent pro-monarchy protests at Tinkune on Friday. The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) led a demonstration at Maitighar this morning, calling for an investigation into Rajak’s tragic death and demanding strict action against those responsible.
Rajak was found burned inside a building allegedly set on fire by protesters. Addressing the gathering, FNJ Acting President Deepak Acharya pledged that the federation would work tirelessly to ensure justice for Rajak. He emphasized the need for journalists to stand united in protecting their rights, safety, and property.
Former FNJ Presidents Taranath Dahal, Dharmendra Jha, and Shiva Gaunle, along with other journalists, joined the protest, urging the government to provide justice and compensation to Rajak’s family.
In light of the tragedy, the FNJ has postponed all events planned for its Establishment Day and launched a protest movement. FNJ Treasurer Ram Krishna Adhikari announced that an emergency meeting of the federation’s central members will be held today to decide on further actions. The federation also plans to meet with the Minister of Communications and Information Technology to submit a formal memorandum regarding the incident.
