Two Indian Nationals Arrested in Siraha for Possessing a Pistol

Two Indian nationals were apprehended in Maheshbari of Sakhuwanankarkatti Rural Municipality-5, Siraha district, for possessing a pistol, according to the District Police Office, Siraha.

The individuals, identified as Niraj Kumar Paswan, 18, and Arun Shah, 37, from Maduwani district in Bihar State, India, were arrested following a security check on Thursday evening. Chief of the District Police Office, Ramesh Pandit, stated that the duo was traveling in a public vehicle en route to Lahan from Thadi when they were detained.

“The suspects were found in possession of a pistol during a routine security check,” said Pandit. The police have not disclosed further details regarding the purpose of their travel or the intended use of the weapon.

The arrest underscores the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to maintain security and prevent the illegal possession and transportation of firearms within the district. Further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of the suspects’ activities and any potential connections to larger criminal networks.
