
Two Missing After Avalanche on Annapurna Peak

Two climbers have gone missing following an avalanche that struck between Camp II and Camp III on Annapurna Peak. The missing individuals have been identified as Rima Sherpa and Nima Tashi Sherpa, both from Solukhumbu, according to Ningma Sherpa, proprietor of Seven Summit Trekking Agency.
The pair has been unaccounted for since Sunday morning. Search efforts are currently underway, with fellow Sherpas at the base camp involved in the operation. A rescue helicopter has also been dispatched from Kathmandu to assist in the search.
According to the Department of Tourism, a total of 42 climbers — 30 men and 12 women — from four expedition teams have received permits to climb Annapurna this spring season.
