Two Pakistani Nationals Arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport with Illegal Currency
In a significant development, the security office at Tribhuvan International Airport detained two Pakistani nationals for possession of a substantial amount of illegal foreign currency. Identified as Yashin Ahmed, aged 31, holding passport number HF1162403, and Mohammad Adnan Lakhani, aged 48, with passport number AC 8348243, the individuals arrived in Nepal from Dubai aboard Fly Dubai Airlines flight number FZ 575.
The arrest took place on Wednesday evening around 7 pm local time, as the police conducted a routine check at the arrival tunnel gate of the international flight. Upon inspection, the authorities discovered a large sum of Danish currency, specifically Danish Krone five lakhs, equivalent to approximately 95 lakhs and 43 thousand 384 Nepali rupees, in possession of the two suspects.
In response to the discovery, law enforcement officials promptly apprehended Ahmed and Lakhani. Subsequently, the authorities have decided to detain both individuals under police custody overnight. They will be handed over to the Revenue Investigation Department for further investigation and necessary legal action.
The incident highlights the ongoing efforts of security agencies at Tribhuvan International Airport to combat illegal activities and uphold the law.
