UK Ambassador Rob Fenn Pays Courtesy Call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli

The United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Nepal, Rob Fenn, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at his office in Singha Durbar today. During the meeting, the two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest and the strong bilateral relations between Nepal and the United Kingdom, according to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

Prime Minister Oli highlighted the government’s focus on key national priorities, including development, increased youth participation in policymaking, and the achievement of sustainable development goals. He emphasized that these efforts are integral to strengthening Nepal’s federalism and democracy. “The government is committed to fulfilling the national aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali,’ and meeting the expectations of the people, as it operates with the collaboration of two large parties,” PM Oli stated.

Ambassador Fenn expressed his satisfaction with the progress made in resolving legal issues related to transitional justice through political consensus. He assured Prime Minister Oli of the continued support of the UK government in Nepal’s development efforts, particularly in areas such as good governance, federalism strengthening, and economic growth.

Additionally, Ambassador Fenn committed to assisting Nepali traders in exporting their goods to the UK, further enhancing the economic ties between the two countries. The meeting underscored the enduring partnership between Nepal and the United Kingdom and the shared commitment to fostering prosperity and stability in the region.
