Ukraine-Russia War: Death Toll Among Nepali Rises to 11

In a tragic turn of events, Somesh Sunar, a resident of Pyuthan Municipality-4 Kathewar, has become the latest Nepali casualty in the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war. The news of Sunar’s demise was announced by Devendra Barma, Deputy Chief of Pyuthan Municipality, who shared the heartbreaking information via social media.

Sunar’s death marks the 11th loss among Nepali individuals serving in the Russian army, as officially confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ministry had previously reported the deaths of 10 Nepalis in the conflict, highlighting the toll the war has taken on Nepali youths who joined the Russian army.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has revealed that there are currently around 200 Nepali nationals serving in the Russian army.
