UML and Maoist Centre Begin Central Committee Meetings Today
The ruling CPN (UML) and the main opposition CPN (Maoist Centre) are set to commence their central committee meetings today, focusing on political strategies and organizational plans ahead of the winter session of the federal parliament.
The UML meeting is scheduled for 11:00 AM at the party’s central office in Chyasal, where Chairperson and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will present a comprehensive political report. According to UML Vice Chair Surendra Pandey, the report will address key issues, including the national political landscape, government formation, constitutional amendments, economic reforms, and future strategies. Central committee members will have three minutes each to express their opinions on the report and other pressing matters.
Meanwhile, the Maoist Centre’s central committee will convene at its Parisdanda office at 1:00 PM. Party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as ‘Prachanda,’ will present a political and organizational report titled “Commitment for Party Transformation and Reconstruction: Today’s Need.” Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota stated that the meeting would include a briefing on the current political situation, followed by discussions on the report.
Both parties aim to develop concrete positions on critical agendas, including constitutional amendments and governance priorities, as they gear up for the upcoming parliamentary session.
