UML’s Chief Whip Urges Finance Minister to Clarify Tax Rate Changes and Unauthorized Entries in Budget

The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has called upon the Minister of Finance to provide a clear explanation within the House regarding the alterations in tax rates and the alleged entry of unauthorized persons into the budget. This demand was made during a House of Representatives meeting held on Tuesday.

During the meeting, CPN-UML’s chief whip, Padam Raj Giri, expressed grave concern over the persisting reports of irregularities during the budget preparation process. Such reports have gradually eroded public trust in the government, undermining its credibility. Giri emphasized that it is imperative for the government to address these concerns promptly and transparently to restore public confidence.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Giri stressed that every year, during the commencement of budget preparations, serious allegations surface, casting doubts on the government’s integrity.
