Unified Socialist Reveals Candidates for National Assembly Elections

The CPN (Unified Socialist) has officially declared its candidates for two crucial seats in the upcoming National Assembly (NA) elections, as per the allocation made by the ruling alliance.

Rajendra Prasad Pandey, the vice chairman of the Unified Socialist, announced that the party has strategically chosen Ghanashyam Rijal Bishwakarma to contest in Bagmati Province and Sabitri Malla for Karnali Province.

This decision comes as part of the seat-sharing agreement negotiated within the ruling alliance, where the Unified Socialist secured only two out of the total 19 seats. In the broader distribution, the Nepali Congress obtained the lion’s share with 10 seats, followed by CPN (Maoist Center) with 6 seats, Unified Socialist with 2, and Janata Samajbadi Party being granted 1 seat.

The current six-year term of 20 National Assembly members is set to expire on March 3. In the upcoming elections on January 25, 19 members will be elected, while the President will nominate the remaining one member in accordance with constitutional provisions.

The CPN (Unified Socialist) is gearing up for a competitive political battle as it puts forth its candidates for the crucial seats, aiming to represent the interests and aspirations of its supporters in Bagmati and Karnali Provinces. The outcome of these elections will undoubtedly shape the composition and dynamics of the National Assembly for the foreseeable future.
