United States Ambassador to Nepal Dean R. Thompson called on Inspector General of the Armed Police Force Raju Aryal on Friday.
Thompson, who took charge of his duties only last month, reached the headquarters of the Armed Police Force in Halchowk to meet IGP Aryal.
DSP Shailendra Thapa, the assistant spokesperson of the Armed Police Force, said that the two discussed Nepal-US relations and the mutual interests of the two countries.
It is the first meeting by the US envoy with the APF chief after the former assumed his office.
Thompson had arrived in Kathmandu on October 13 to take up his new diplomatic assignment. He replaced Randy Berry, who was nominated as the new US envoy to Namibia.
