US Deports Undocumented Nepali Migrants

The United States has deported several undocumented Nepali nationals, who arrived in Kathmandu this morning on a chartered flight.
According to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) spokesperson Rinji Sherpa, the aircraft from Portsmouth International Airport in New Hampshire State carried 14 passengers, including the crew.
After making a technical stop, the flight landed at TIA at 10:15 am. Among the deportees, eight Nepalis were handed over to Nepal Police for further investigation following the completion of immigration procedures. Additionally, one more Nepali was deported via Qatar Airways on the same day.
The deportations follow the continuation of strict immigration policies under US President Donald Trump’s second term. Previously, the US had deported 27 Nepali nationals under similar circumstances.
Immigration Officer Yagya Raj Aryal confirmed the latest deportations and said that the aircraft will return to the US via Albania at 3:00 pm tomorrow.
