US Deputy Assistant Secretary Afreen Akhter Arrives in Kathmandu
Afreen Akhter, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs, has arrived in Kathmandu today. Her visit aims to bolster bilateral ties between the United States and Nepal, focusing on crucial areas such as education, healthcare, democratic institutions, and economic opportunities.
During her stay, Akhter is scheduled to engage with government officials, civil society representatives, and members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AmCham). Discussions will revolve around how the US-Nepal relationship can further contribute to Nepal’s development in various sectors.
This visit marks Akhter’s second trip to Nepal, following her previous visit in February last year. The US Embassy in Kathmandu has emphasized the importance of ongoing dialogues to strengthen cooperation between the two nations and support Nepal’s advancement.
