Vice President Pun attends India’s Republic Day programme
Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun attended a reception organised on the occasion of the 74th Republic Day of India at the Embassy of India here today.
Ambassador of India to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava hosted the reception.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ was present on the occasion. Also attending the programme were the Speaker, the Deputy Prime Ministers, members of the Council of Ministers, the Deputy Speaker, MPs, the former Prime ministers, leaders of various political parties, heads of constitutional bodies, heads and office-bearers of the diplomatic missions, special-class employees of the government, industrialists and businessmen, social workers, artists, media persons and distinguished persons.
Giving a brief statement on the occasion, the Indian Ambassador said the exchange of high-level visits from both countries have added a new dimension in the Indo-Nepal relations.
He added that India’s political leadership was committed to work in close relation with the Prime Minister Dahal-led government for giving further impetus to the bilateral ties.
Artistes from India had presented a variety cultural programme on the occasion.
