Weather Expected to Improve by Saturday Following Persistent Monsoon Rains
In the midst of the monsoon season, the Meteorological Forecasting Division predicts a much-needed respite from the continuous rainfall by this weekend. The ongoing monsoon rains, which have lingered for the past few days, are anticipated to gradually subside over the next two to three days.
Barun Poudel, a senior meteorologist at the division, mentioned that while the current precipitation is likely to persist until Friday, there is a noticeable improvement expected thereafter. While isolated heavy downpours remain a possibility, particularly in the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, the overall weather conditions are projected to ameliorate.
Today, the division reports that the skies will generally remain cloudy to mostly cloudy across the country, accompanied by scattered light to moderate rainfall in certain regions. Notably, regions such as Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudur Pashchim Province may experience instances of heavy rainfall coupled with thunder and lightning.
As night falls, the cloud cover is expected to persist nationwide, with the likelihood of light to moderate rainfall in many areas. There is a chance of heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in specific locales of Koshi, Madesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Province.
While the monsoon rains have posed challenges in various provinces, the forthcoming improvement in weather conditions offers a glimmer of hope. As the nation awaits the weekend, the gradual transition from persistent rainfall to more manageable weather is anticipated, providing some relief from the recent damp and gloomy days.
