Westerly Winds Affect Nepal’s Weather, Cooler Days in Kathmandu
The influence of westerly winds is being felt across Nepal, bringing partly cloudy skies to the hilly regions while keeping the weather mostly fair in the rest of the country, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
Foggy conditions have been observed in parts of the Terai and hilly regions, contributing to a steady drop in temperatures. In Kathmandu Valley, the minimum temperature this morning was recorded at 8°C, which later improved slightly to 10°C. The maximum temperature in the federal capital is expected to range between 19°C and 21°C today.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division predicts that the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces will experience partly cloudy skies throughout the day, while other regions will remain clear.
Light rain is anticipated at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Additionally, light snowfall is possible in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki.
For tonight, partly cloudy weather is expected to persist in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with chances of light rain in some areas.
The forecast for the next 24 hours indicates light to moderate rain in one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Light snowfall is also likely in the high-altitude regions of Koshi and Gandaki.
Residents are advised to stay prepared for cooler temperatures and potential precipitation, especially in the hilly and mountainous regions.
