What’s Unfolding Tomorrow in Jhapa?
Tomorrow, Jhapa will witness a significant event as Former King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev is set to inaugurate the statue of Prithivi Narayan Shah, stirring preparations by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).
The former king, who arrived in Jhapa today via Buddha Air, will be staying at the Mechinagar resort for the night. RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden has been diligently coordinating arrangements for the visit over the past week and a half, aiming to surpass the success of previous events organized by the party.
A massive motorcycle rally, expected to include at least 7,000 participants, has been organized to escort the former king. The rally will cover a distance of 12 kilometers, culminating in Birtamode. Upon reaching Bhatbhateni, Shah will disembark from his vehicle and embark on a 45-minute walk, with the RPP orchestrating a grand welcome for him with a public demonstration of 50,000 people in Birtamod.
The visit will include interactions between the former king and local intellectuals and leaders. RPP spokesperson Mohan Shrestha stated that the party has mobilized its full resources to ensure the visit is not only grand but also historic and successful.
