Woman Killed in Kathmandu House Fire Triggered by Gas Leak

A woman lost her life in a fire that broke out early morning in Makhantole, Ward 24 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Authorities have confirmed that the blaze was caused by a leak in a liquefied petroleum (LP) gas cylinder.

According to SP Apil Raj Bohara, spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu, the fire erupted in the residence of Dayaram Shrestha. The deceased woman was found inside the house, though her identity has yet to be confirmed.

“The body has been recovered, but identification is still pending. Firefighting efforts are currently underway,” Bohara told reporters.

The flames also spread to an adjacent house, raising concerns of further damage. Police and emergency responders are working to contain the situation and assess the full extent of the losses.
