World Cup Cricket: Non-stop Rain Delays Nepal-Sri Lanka Match

The toss for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Cricket match between Nepal and Sri Lanka has been delayed due to non-stop rain. The match was scheduled to take place at the Broard County Stadium in Florida this morning, according to the ICC.

Today’s match holds significant importance for both teams. Nepal, who lost their first match of the group stage, is eager to secure a victory in their second match. Similarly, Sri Lanka, having lost both of their previous matches, is under immense pressure to win today’s game to have a chance at making it to the last eight.

This match marks the first encounter between Nepal and Sri Lanka in a senior cricket tournament. Nepal was defeated by the Netherlands by six wickets in their first group stage match, while Sri Lanka suffered a six-wicket defeat to South Africa in their first match and a two-wicket loss to Bangladesh in their second match.

Following today’s match, the Nepali team will travel to the West Indies to play the remaining two matches of the group stage. Nepal is set to face South Africa on June 14 and Bangladesh on June 16 in St. Vincent, West Indies.
