NC Prepares for Massive Protest Across Kathmandu Valley

In a bold move against the government, the Nepali Congress (NC), the leading opposition party, is gearing up for a widespread protest in the Kathmandu Valley. The focal point of their agitation is the demand for a parliamentary probe committee to investigate Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in connection with a cooperative fraud case.

With meticulous planning, the NC has mobilized its representatives across all 15 constituencies in the Kathmandu Valley, showcasing their readiness to challenge the status quo. The protest, slated to commence this Sunday, aims to galvanize public support and pressure the government into addressing the allegations against Minister Lamichhane.

To ensure comprehensive coverage and effective representation, the NC has strategically assigned key figures to each constituency. Central committee member Abdul Satar leads the charge in Kathmandu-1, followed by Sita Thapaliya in Kathmandu-2, and Rangamati Shahi in Kathmandu-3. The formidable lineup continues with Kundan Kafle in Kathmandu-4, Naina Singh Mahar in Kathmandu-5, and Guru Baral in Kathmandu-6. Additionally, Angelu Sherpa takes charge in Kathmandu-7, Umesh Jung Rayamaji in Kathmandu-8, Dr. Dila Sangraula in Kathmandu-9, and Sarita Prasai in Kathmandu-10.

In Lalitpur, the NC’s presence remains robust, with Umakanta Chaudhary spearheading Lalitpur-1, Devendra Raj Kandel in Lalitpur-2, and Arjun Joshi in Lalitpur-3. Bhaktapur sees its share of NC activism, with Indra Baniya taking charge in Bhaktapur-1 and Ganesh Lama in Bhaktapur-2.

The decision to initiate street protests follows a pivotal meeting of the NC’s central committee and parliamentary party held on Wednesday. This strategic move underscores the party’s unwavering commitment to accountability and transparency in governance, setting the stage for a significant showdown with the ruling government.

As tensions escalate and anticipation mounts, all eyes are on the Kathmandu Valley, where the NC’s mobilization signals a resolute stance against perceived government malpractice.
