Over 1,000 Dengue Cases Reported in Koshi Province in Two Years
Koshi Province has reported a total of 1,065 dengue infections over the past two years, with two fatalities recorded in Jhapa district. The deceased are identified as Bimala Dahal Paudel, 42, from Haldibari-3, and eight-year-old Alok Jung Basnet from Birtamod-4, according to Birendra Das, the dengue focal person of the Jhapa health office.
In the last two months alone, Jhapa has seen 128 new dengue cases. Morang tops the list of infected individuals in Koshi Province with 532 cases, followed by Jhapa (81), Dhankuta (80), and Sunsari (70).
Surakchya Khatri, the focal person of the Health Directorate in Dhankuta, reported additional cases across the province: Udayapur (69), Bhojpur (68), Sankhuwasabha (67), Okhaldhunga (29), Panchthar (21), Solukhumbu (6), Ilam (5), Khotang (4), and Terhathum (2).
In Jhapa district, the majority of dengue cases have been reported in Damak (22), Haldibari (7), and Bhadrapur (5).
