16th Meeting of Nepal-China Diplomatic Consultation Mechanism Begins
The 16th meeting of the Nepal-China Diplomatic Consultation Mechanism commenced in Kathmandu at 10:30 AM today.
Amrit Bahadur Rai, spokesperson at the Foreign Ministry, stated that discussions are underway concerning various aspects of Nepal-China bilateral relations and cooperation. The meeting will cover a wide range of topics, including education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, trade, investment, tourism, financial support, and connectivity.
Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal is leading the Nepali delegation, which includes senior officials from different ministries. On the Chinese side, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong is heading the delegation. Weidong arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday morning for a three-day official visit to participate in the meeting.
During his visit, Vice Minister Weidong is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on President Ramchandra Paudel. He met with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Monday. Vice Minister Weidong is set to return to China tomorrow.
