73,000 Fake Driver’s Licences Issued Across Country

In a shocking revelation, it has been uncovered that over the last five years, a staggering 73,000 fake driver’s licences have been issued from various transport offices across the country. The scandal involves 35 transport offices under the provincial government, sparking concerns about the integrity of the licensing system.

The Department of Transport Management took action after receiving a complaint about the suspicious issuance of licences. Approximately 23,000 licences that were on the verge of being issued were halted for further investigation.

Upon forming a committee to address the issue, the department made a startling discovery – the details of 73,000 individuals had been manipulated and stored under different names. Uddhav Prasad Rijal, the director general of the department, revealed that the master user ID and password, intended for the heads of the 35 transport offices, were misused by some officials to distribute these fraudulent licences.

“The Department of Transport Management has given the master user ID and password to the heads of 35 transport offices across the country, which is also given to their subordinates,” Rijal stated. “It was found that those who got the user ID and password misused them to distribute fake driver’s licences.”

The department has taken swift action by reporting the incident to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure, and the case has also been forwarded to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). In response, the CIAA has instructed the ministry to thoroughly study the report and submit their findings.

In the wake of this scandal, the Department of Transport Management has implemented stringent measures to prevent any unauthorized alterations to the license database. These measures are aimed at ensuring the security and accuracy of the licensing system, preventing further abuse of the system and maintaining public trust. The revelation has left citizens and authorities alike questioning the efficacy of the licensing process and calling for a thorough overhaul to prevent such fraudulent activities in the future.
