Hearing on writ petition against Lamicchane scheduled for Wednesday
Hearing on a writ petition lodged against Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane, which was scheduled to be held today, has been shifted for Wednesday.
The hearing has been set for Wednesday after the case that was on the single bench of Supreme Court (SC) Justice Anil Kumar Sinha could not take place as latter could not hear the petition, SC’s Spokesperson Bimal Poudel said.
Advocate Yubaraj Poudel had filed the writ petition against Lamichhane on Tuesday, stating that he was exempted from punishment for misusing the passport, demanding that the decision taken by Attorney General Dr Dinmani Pokharel on Rabi’s case be overturned by the order.
The writ petition was registered at the SC against the decision of the Attorney General not to pursue the case related to misuse of the passport by Lamichhane.
Attorney General Pokharel had decided not to file a case against Lamichhane for the misuse of passport based on the report from the High Attorney Office through the District Attorney Office.
