SAFF Championship 2023: Nepal in a challenging group alongside India, Kuwait, and Pakistan

Nepal has been placed in a challenging group alongside India, Kuwait, and Pakistan for the upcoming SAFF Championship, set to take place in Bangalore, India, from June 21. The group stage draw, which determines the initial matchups, was conducted in New Delhi on Wednesday.

In an effort to enhance the competition, SAFF has extended an invitation to Kuwait and Lebanon, despite their geographical location outside South Asia. Lebanon, in turn, has been assigned to Group B, where they will compete against Bhutan, Bangladesh, and the Maldives.

Despite Nepal’s passionate football following, the national team has yet to clinch a SAFF Championship title, having only reached the final once.

The SAFF Championship will captivate football enthusiasts until its conclusion on July 4, promising an exciting display of talent, rivalry, and the pursuit of victory.
