World Book of Records Recognizes Mayor Harka Sampang’s Extraordinary Efforts in Dharan’s Development

Mayor Harka Sampang of Dharan sub-metropolitan city has been recognized and appreciated by the prestigious World Book of Records. Mayor Sampang’s commendable efforts in promoting a culture of labor and achieving a significant milestone were acknowledged by the ‘World Book of Records – London’.

In an impressive feat, at a time when the residents of Dharan are facing an extreme shortage of drinking water, Mayor Harka Sampang had managed to bring water from the Kokaha River from a distance of about 42 kms through a voluntary labor contribution campaign.

On the 98th day of the campaign, Kokaha’s water was diverted into the Pakuwa River at Dharan-20 at midnight. Although political parties, party leaders and critics of Mayor Sampang have been constantly criticizing him, he has succeeded in bringing water from the Kokaha river through labor contributions.

In recognition of his remarkable achievement, Mayor Harka Sampang was presented with a letter of appreciation from the World Book of Records at a ceremony held in the assembly hall of Dharan sub-metropolitan city on Friday.

Expressing his happiness upon receiving the certificate, Mayor Harka Sampang humbly stated that he worked not for honor but for the betterment of his city. However, he acknowledged that this recognition from the World Book of Records would further ignite his passion to continue working diligently for the progress and development of Dharan.
