Prime Minister Receives Urgent Call for Strong Anti-Corruption Measures
A delegation representing the Campaign for Nepali Congress Transformation met with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today to advocate for stringent actions against corruption. The group emphasized the need for the government to take robust measures to combat corruption and promote good governance within the nation.
The delegation, consisting of members including Madhu Acharya, Jagadishwar Narsingh KC, Bhupendra Jung Shahi, Khagendra Malla, Janardan Acharya, Shanta Bastakoti, and others, convened at the official residence of the Prime Minister, Baluwatar. During the meeting, they expressed their concerns and demands to the Prime Minister.
One of their key demands was for the government to take a firm stance against corruption, ensuring that impartial investigations are conducted in cases such as the Lalita Niwas land procurement scam. The delegation urged the government to hold accountable any individuals found guilty in this case. They also urged the government to refrain from showing any political bias or prejudice during the investigation into the gold scam and urged for an unbiased resolution to the matter.
The delegation further called for a comprehensive investigation into the fake Bhutanese refugee scam and stressed the importance of bringing such cases to a definitive resolution. The delegation underscored that accountability for corruption should apply to all individuals, irrespective of their political affiliations or social standing.
In response, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal assured the delegation of the government’s commitment to addressing corruption-related issues with a fair and serious approach. He affirmed that the government is dedicated to conducting impartial investigations and reaching appropriate conclusions in all corruption cases.
