Hearing on rape case against Sandeep Lamichhane postponed again
The much-anticipated hearing of the rape case involving cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane faced another delay on Sunday, marking a series of adjournments in the trial.
The case, presided over by Judge Padmaraj Pandey of Kathmandu District Court, was scheduled as the top priority on the docket today. However, proceedings were once again deferred, this time due to the ongoing Nepal Bar Association conference taking place in Sauraha, Chitwan.
The postponement arose from the unavailability of the advocate, who was unable to attend the court session due to their participation in the legal conference.
This setback follows a previous delay on November 9, when the bench, led by Judge Keshav Prasad Ghimire, had called upon both parties involved to submit their debate notes. After the submission of arguments from both sides last Friday, today’s hearing was slated as the next crucial step in the legal proceedings.
