Former Assistant Minister Neupane dies

Former Assistant Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Yagya Raj Neupane, passed away today at the age of 65.
He died amidst the treatment for liver complications at Bhaktapur-based Human Organ Transplant Centre this morning, according to his relative Umakant Neupane. He had been under treatment at the Centre for the past three months. He is survived by his two sons and three daughters.
Neupane had been elected the House of Representatives (HoR) member from Kalikot representing the CPN (UML) during the 1994 election. He served as the Assistant Minister for Communications and Information Technology from August 26-December 24, 1998.
He was born in Phukot of Raskot municipality-8 in Kalikot.
