FM Saud Engages with Nobel Peace Prize Winner Satyarthi

A meeting took place on Monday between Foreign Minister NP Saud and Nobel Peace Prize winner Kailash Satyarthi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The discussions centered around Satyarthi’s noteworthy contributions in Nepal and India, specifically in the realms of child rights, social initiatives, and philanthropy.

Satyarthi, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 for his commendable work in advocating for child rights, attended the meeting alongside Lumbini Provincial Government Chief Minister Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary. The talks also included preparations for the upcoming “Laureates and Leaders” summit scheduled to take place in Lumbini in March.

Organized by the Lumbini Government, the summit aims to address issues related to the welfare of children, sustainable development, and peace at Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha.

According to the Lumbini Government, the ‘Laureates and Leaders’ summit will bring together global development experts, senior officials from United Nations agencies, and representatives from both governmental and non-governmental sectors. Organizers anticipate that the summit will significantly contribute to promoting Lumbini as the birthplace of Lord Gautama Buddha, a symbol of peace.
