Two Nepali Nationals Succumb to Smoke in Scotland Blaze
Two Nepali nationals lost their lives due to a fire outbreak in a building at Hilton Road in Scotland. The victims have been identified as 28-year-old Aanchal Subedi and 24-year-old Shiksha Subedi, both hailing from Pokhara, Kaski.
The NRNA, UK President, Prem Gaha Magar, confirmed the unfortunate demise of the two sisters, who were staying at Hilton Road in Scotland. The Subedi sisters are the daughters of Dr. Yagya Prasad Subedi, a former Professor at Pokhara University. Aanchal, the elder sister, was an engineer, while Shiksha, the younger sibling, was a student pursuing IT.
Dr. Shiva Tiwari, the president of the Nepalese Himalayan Association, Scotland, revealed that the tragic incident occurred as the sisters were climbing downstairs in a smoke-filled building last Monday evening. The cause of their death has been determined as suffocation due to the dense smoke.
The Subedi family, who had been residing in Edinburgh for nearly two decades, is now mourning the loss of their loved ones. The funeral rites for Aanchal and Shiksha Subedi are scheduled to take place on the upcoming Tuesday.
