Tragic Wednesday: 6 Dead, 13 Injured in Multiple Road Accidents Across Nepal
In a series of unfortunate events on Wednesday, as many as six lives were lost, and several others were left injured in separate road accidents across various districts of Nepal. The incidents, which occurred in Dang, Bara, Sindhupalchok, and Salyan, have sent shockwaves through the communities affected.
In Dang, a collision between a motorcycle and a jeep in Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City-16 resulted in the demise of a 24-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man from Triveni Rural Municipality-5 of Rolpa district. Despite efforts at treatment in Ghorahi-based Rapti Institute of Health Sciences, they succumbed to their injuries. The jeep driver, identified as Nirmal Budha, 29, has been detained by authorities for further investigation.
Meanwhile, in Bara, a head-on collision between a truck and a pickup along the Simara-Hetauda road section claimed two lives, including that of an Indian national, and left three others injured. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed, while the injured are currently undergoing treatment at LS Neuro Hospital in Parwanipur.
In Salyan, six individuals sustained injuries in a collision between a tipper and a motorcycle in Bagchaur Municipality, alongside a jeep overturning in Bangad Kupinde Municipality while en route to Jajarkot from Nepalgunj.
Additionally, in Sindhupalchok district, a tragic accident took the lives of two individuals and injured four others, including the driver, when a jeep crashed at Sakhuwapari Andheri river.
The incidents have prompted authorities to take swift action, with investigations underway and the drivers involved in the accidents being detained for questioning. Efforts are also being made to provide necessary medical care to the injured, with some being referred to the National Trauma Centre in Kathmandu for further treatment.
