CAN Announces Squad for Triangular T20I Series
The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has unveiled the lineup for the forthcoming triangular T20I cricket series, set to kick off this Tuesday. In a strategic move, six players from the A team have secured spots in the T20 squad, while maintaining the core of eleven players from the League Two roster.
Notably, the exclusion of Dev Khanal, Bhim Sarki, Surya Tamang, and Pawan Sarraf has drawn attention, as they were part of the League Two squad. However, Nepal A team captain Binod Bhandari, alongside Sandeep Zora, Vivek Yadav, Pratish JC, Rashid Khan, and Sagar Dhakal, have earned their places in the T20 team.
Adding depth to the squad, specialist T20 bowler Avinash Bohra has also been included, highlighting a strategic emphasis on bowling prowess for the upcoming series.
The 18-member squad boasts a blend of experience and emerging talent, with 14 players having previously represented Nepal in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers.
The triangular T20 series, featuring Nepal, Netherlands, and Namibia, will commence on Tuesday at the Trivi Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Nepal will open the series with a match against Namibia, promising an exhilarating start to the highly anticipated tournament.
