Rhino Found Dead in Chitwan National Park
A tragic discovery unfolded in the heart of Chitwan National Park as a rhinoceros was found dead on Sunday. Believed to be approximately 12 years old, the rhino was discovered lifeless within the Belsar Buffer Zone Community Forest at Jarnelighat, situated along the banks of the Rapti River in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-13, Chitwan.
Ganesh Prasad Adhikari, the Information Officer of Chitwan National Park, confirmed that the rhino’s horn and hooves remained intact, indicating the absence of poaching activity.
Park officials are speculating that the rhino’s demise may have resulted from a confrontation with another rhinoceros. Investigations into the incident are ongoing as the park authorities strive to understand the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
